Any potentially dangerous situations must be reported immediately to a Community Manager or Human Resources (hr@thread.org). All volunteers have an obligation to report conduct in the Thread community that they reasonably believe to be suspicious or situations that appear problematic, regardless of the alleged offender’s identity or position. While we do not expect volunteers to be skilled at identifying potentially dangerous persons, volunteers are expected to exercise good judgment and to inform a Community Manager or Human Resources if any employee, young person, volunteer, board members, collaborator, donor, alumni or visitor exhibits behavior that could be a sign of a potentially dangerous situation.

Such behavior includes but is not limited to:

  • Obsession with weapons or bringing them into the workplace or school
  • Displaying overt signs of extreme stress, resentment, hostility or anger
  • Making threatening remarks
  • Sudden or significant deterioration of performance
  • Displaying irrational or inappropriate behavior
  • Changes in personal behavior and interaction with others

All individuals who work on Thread premises who apply for, or obtain, temporary or permanent protective or restraining orders listing Thread as a protected area must present any such orders to the CEO.
