Ask Coaching Questions

Seek Clarity:

  1. What is the procedure?
  2. What is the purpose of the procedure?
  3. By when do you need to have the procedure?
  4. Have you gotten a second opinion? (to ensure procedure is necessary AND to ensure you have the best value)

Get to the Root:

Not all dental bills can be prevented but some can.

  1. Do you have what you need to maintain your daily dental health? Toothbrush? Toothpaste? Floss?

Ask About Options:

  1. How much do you think you could realistically afford right now?
  2. Who have you asked for help?
  3. What have you tried so far?
  4. Have you been in this situation before? If so, how did you handle it?
  5. Do you know anyone who has been in this situation before? If so, how did you handle it?
  6. Do you have any friends or family who could lend you money?
  7. Have you tried to find any organizations that could help?
  8. Have you tried talking with the dental clinic/office to talk about a sliding scale or reduced fees?
