What do I need to do before requesting financial assistance?

Thread is a “last dollar” provider of funding for barrier removal efforts. We ask that your Young Person checks in with their network of friends, family, etc. as well as any available community resources. We also encourage them to advocate for themself by asking for a payment plan or a reduced bill. Once they've exhausted all of these options, that's when our Barrier Removal Assistance form kicks in! Submit a request for tangible financial assistance using the form above and your Resources and Opportunities Manager will review and respond within 48 hours. NOTE: We cannot give cash or use CashApp/Venmo. Any money must be paid directly to whom the Young Person owes money. We cannot reimburse Young People for payments they have made.
