Ask Coaching Questions |
Seek Clarity:
- Did you receive a notice in the mail saying your utility was going to be shut off?
- What deadline has been given? By whom?
- What’s the minimum you can pay by your deadline to avoid the consequence?
- How much do you owe?
Get to the Root:
- What got you behind in payments?
- Has there been a change in your income or expenses?
- Are you likely to be in the same position or a different position next month?
Ask About Options:
- Have you called the company to try to explain your situation?
- Who have you asked for help?
- What have you tried so far?
- Have you experienced this before? If so, how did you handle it?
- Do you know anyone who has experienced this before? If so, how did you handle it?
- Do you have any friends or family who could lend you money?
- How much could you spend on your utilities this month? In future months?
- Have you tried to find any organizations that could help?
