Ask Coaching Questions

Seek Clarity:

  1. What items do you need?
  2. How much do the items cost?
  3. By when do you need them?
  4. If pursuing a post high school degree/program, what is the degree or program?
  5. Is this a one time need or will this be an ongoing need each semester/year?

Ask About Options:

  1. How much do you think you could afford to put towards your school supplies right now?
  2. Who have you asked for help?
  3. What have you tried so far?
  4. Have you been in this situation before? If so, how did you handle it?
  5. Do you know anyone who has been unable to afford their school supplies before? If so, how did you handle it?
  6. Do you have any friends or family who could lend you money?
  7. Have you talked with your school? Usually a guidance counselor in High School or Dean of Students in 2 or 4 year degree programs can help.
